Welcome to the virtual world… how’s it going for you so far?
In all honesty, I was really worried about this whole situation – not being able to see our patients; to help them continue with treatment and recovery, and prevent injury altogether!
As you know, we put our heads together, and have adapted our method of providing treatment to you guys, and it’s working wonders. The only thing you can do in a global pandemic, is your best!
So here we are, doing our best, so you can continue to do your best.
One thing I’ve heard a lot of on our virtual appointments is:
“I literally go straight from my desk to my workout. I usually walk to the gym, so that warms me up, but now I don’t even need to change, and my gym equipment is right next to my desk… so what can I do pre-workout?”
If this is you.. READ ON, as this is a good way to get injured.
Here are my 3 Top Tips:
Doing a pre-work out warm up is key, but make it relevant!
- Loosen up the neck and back muscles, as those may be tight from your desk work.
- Activate the muscles you are about to use in your workout.
- If you’ve been given any rehab exercises and are training around/for injury use your rehab as your warm up; this is a win win!
If you’re really unsure of how you should be warming up, or you have a niggle, pain or injury, I urge you to get an appointment sorted asap so we can help you do you best! https://function360.co.uk/physio-skypelondon/
